About Tatiana

Tatiana Lyskova was a widely-acclaimed, prizewinning illustrator and printmaker in Moscow before she moved to San Francisco in 1998.  Her recent etching reflect the adventures she had before, during and after her decision to try to immigrate to America.  In 1999, she learned that she had won a world-wide lottery, the prize for which was a Green Card.

Her good fortune is part of her sensibility. Her subjects are literary in nature - witty, ironic and graceful. Most of her subjects are young women--learning to ride a bicycle, relining on a glamorous chaise, dreaming, telling one another secrets.

"I have had a wonderfully complicated and interesting life," she says.  "And I try to convey experiences I have had in my work. "So often people don't see the details life presents to them. I try to show them details that I see and I hope that my work will get them to notice small details in their own lives and see how beautiful they are. Life is beautiful, that's what I am saying."

Tatiana is an artist and graphic designer. In 1989 she graduated as a Bachelor of Graphic Design from Moscow University of Print  (Press), Russia. During student years she was awarded two times with Favorsky Scholarship 1988,89). She is a winner of Best Design for Poetry award at 'Book of the Year' Moscow, 1992.

Tatiana successfully worked in fields of book illustration, print design, typeface design, and web design. Fine art, and particularly etching, is important part of her life. Some of Tatiana's works are held in private collections in USA and Europe.

Since 1998, lives and works in San Francisco, California
