About Tatiana

"I have lived a fascinating life," says Tatiana. "And I strive to convey my experiences through my work. So often, people fail to notice the intricate details that life presents to them. I aim to show them the details I see and hope that my work will inspire them to appreciate the small, beautiful intricacies of their own lives. That's what I am trying to convey: life is beautiful."

Tatiana is an artist and graphic designer who graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Illustration and Graphic Design from Moscow State University of Printing Arts in 1995. During her student years, she was twice awarded the Favorsky Scholarship (1994 and 1995). She also won the Best Design for Poetry award at the "Book of the Year" event in Moscow in 1996. Prior to her move to San Francisco in 1998, Tatiana had already established herself as a highly-regarded and award-winning illustrator and printmaker. Her recent paintings and etchings reflect her experiences before, during, and after her decision to emigrate to America.

Her good fortune is an integral part of her artistic sensibility. Her subjects are literary, witty, ironic, and graceful, featuring young women learning to ride bicycles, lounging on glamorous chaises, dreaming, or sharing secrets.

Tatiana has been living and working in San Francisco, California since 1998. Over the past 20 years, she has honed her skills through a combination of formal education and practical experience. She has been an active member of the San Francisco art community, including participating in groups such as the Shipyard Artists, California Society of Printmakers, and the International Federation of Artists, UNESCO. Tatiana has exhibited her work at various galleries and has also been an artist-in-residence at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, including the de Young and the Legion of Honor.
